SPA Training Scugdale Crag/Brimham Rocks
Not even the wild weather dampened the enthusiasm and enjoyment last weekends SPA trainees experienced. The forecast for the whole weekend was poor and it was a total surprise to have the sun warming us up on Scugdale Crag carring out the personal skills section of the syllabus.
Brimham Rocks was the choosen venue for the Group Skills section and as we sat in the car in the car park waiting for the torrential rain to stop I thought it was unlikely that I was going to be able to carry out everything that was required. The rain eased (as the wind increased) and we headed up to the Lovers Leap area to look at direct belays, group abseiling and bottom rope set ups, as well as dealing with a few possible problems.
Thanks to all the Candidates; Craig Maggie Andrew and Chris for their patience and enthusiasim.
