Rock Climbing (Outdoor Taster)
This course is aimed at the complete beginner, thrill seeking adrenaline junky, or those coming outdoors after learning the ropes (pun intended) indoors! Get out there and try it!
Within this course, participants will get a chance to experience 'real' climbing while being introduced to safe techniques such as; climbing as a ‘second’, retrieving placed protection, belaying and some rope work. Participants will also be guided as to the most appropriate equipment to obtain if they want to pursue the sport further. We will visit crags and rock faces of a single pitch character appropriate to attending and candidate's abilities. Safety of the participants is paramount!
This course is aimed at those people who want to explore the delights of rock climbing or try the sport for the very first time. It would also be excellent, used as part of a reward scheme from businesses or place of employment. An excellent way to meet like-minded people. Ideally participants will have had a taste of climbing at a climbing wall but this is not essential. A reasonable level of fitness and flexibility is expected so that maximum enjoyment can be experienced.
You must be a minimum of 8 years old to attend this course, so also ideal for families.
